How to use? DermaGene Quartz 5in1

Treatment protocols

Hair removal (HR indication on the device)

  • Frequency of treatment: every 2 weeks in the first 2 months, then once a month for 1.5 years.
  • Shave the hair 2–3 days before treatment. The remaining hair must not be longer than 2–3 mm.
  • Waxing, epilation and tweezing are prohibited 1 month before and during the start of the series of treatments. The hair must be in the hair follicle for damage to occur.
  • Tanned skin surfaces must not be treated. The greater the contrast between the colour of the skin and the hair in favour of the hair, the better the result of the treatment and the easier it is to remove the hair. Tanned skin surfaces may get burned.
  • USEFUL TIP: Use a white eyeliner to mark the treated area with two vertical stripes on the leg and find the next area to treat. The hairs will not start falling out immediately, but only 7–10 days after the treatment. Usually, after the 3rd or 4th treatment, the hair will start to visibly recede in spots.
  • In the intimate area and under the armpits, it is advisable to apply the treatment twice for better results, since the hair sits deeper here, and will sometimes react more slowly to the treatment. During treatment, a slight stinging and hot sensation is normal. For increased efficiency, try to use the device at the highest possible energy level.

Acne removal (RA indication on the device)

  • Frequency of treatment: weekly, as long as necessary. Later, the frequency can be reduced. (Do not forget that the device must not be used in case of active treatment with Roaccutane or other anti-acne medications.)
  • The device may be used only on healed skin! There is a risk of hyperpigmentation if treatment is applied on wounds or damaged skin.
  • Do not use together with acidic or retinol products (stop using AHA, BHA, acids, exfoliants or products containing retinol 3 weeks before the start of the series of treatments, and their use is prohibited for the entire duration).
  • After 6–8 treatments, the duration between treatments can be increased to once a month, which is the same frequency recommended for long-term treatment.

Skin rejuvenation (SC indication on the device)

  • Switch the device to SC mode.
  • The goal is to attain a pleasantly warm sensation, which is not as strong as in the case of hair removal. A slight stinging sensation is normal, but the energy level should be selected with care.
  • Length of treatment: once every 2–3 weeks; a total of 6–10 sessions. After that, a follow-up treatment is recommended every month. In winter, frequent treatment is recommended every year.
  • USEFUL TIP: The darker your skin type, the lower energy level is needed. Be sure to use lower energy levels in the summer.
  • ATTENTION: The effectiveness of skin rejuvenation treatment depends on several factors. Since skin colour, the production capacity of active collagen fibre, hydration and tolerance all influence the result, the treatment will have different and unpredictable results for everybody.
  • It may pass over pigment spots and capillary dilatations, but only if the pigment spot is benign and the capillary dilatation is not inflamed. It may also can pass over birthmarks if they do not protrude and are checked by a dermatologist regularly.
  • You can pass two times over problematic areas, such as wrinkles, large pores or sagging skin.
