BIO-RECODE™ combines a long-wear hydrogel format with NAD+, salmon-derived PDRN, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, multi-form hyaluronic acid, panthenol and Centella asiatica. These ingredients were selected to support prolonged hydration, skin comfort, barrier care and a smoother, more rested-looking complexion.
In a 12-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled split-face study involving 93 women aged 35–55, a moisturiser containing 3 ppm Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 produced significantly greater improvements in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles than the control moisturiser.
Hydration and barrier-supporting ingredients also have relevant human data. In a randomized, assessor-blinded study of 20 women, a topical formula containing 1% hyaluronic acid, 5% glycerin and Centella asiatica increased measured skin hydration by 59% after 1 hour, 48% after 8 hours and 29% after 24 hours. After 24 hours, transepidermal water loss was also lower in the treated area than in the untreated control area.
Centella asiatica has also been studied separately in cosmetic formulations. In a four-week study involving 25 volunteers, creams and hydrogels containing 2.5% or 5% Centella asiatica extract improved stratum-corneum hydration and reduced transepidermal water loss, with the 5% formulations showing the strongest results.
Panthenol supports the barrier-comfort positioning of the formula. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human study, seven days of topical dexpanthenol use significantly increased stratum-corneum hydration and reduced transepidermal water loss compared with the vehicle control.
Research into PDRN is promising, particularly in medical and aesthetic recovery applications, but most robust clinical evidence currently relates to injected or professional use rather than topical hydrogel masks. Topical NAD+ is likewise an emerging field, and its cosmetic performance depends strongly on formulation stability and delivery.
